My elegant and my nerdy side....

Okay, call me sappy, but I find that this song speaks to my view on life. It symbolizes the greatness of everyday, the wonders of nature, and the rewards of love. Plus, Sarah is Canadian...

YouTube - Sarah McLachlan-Ordinary Miracle

This next link shows just how we can laugh just for the sake of laughing....that is all life is about - our ability to laugh at ourselves. I believe this man lives by this....enjoy....fast forward the clip until the mike is put in front of the middle man.....
Laugh with the REAL people

These two clips are as far apart on the creative scale....put a Mozart concert or a Shakespearian play and even further, add me at my attempt at belly dancing and all of the options are as polarized as they can be... but, yet, they are all performing arts. - even my belly dancing!

To perform in front of an audience takes skill, may it be a ballet dancer or a stand up comedian or even a teacher. To engage an audience and to keep it stimulated is a skill. It takes an extremely creative mind to do this. To capture an audience when one has a venue like a play or music is less challenging in my mind, compared to a teacher who has to be creative in capturing his or her audience ( the class of 20 kids) when the only venue is fractions or reading maps, or spelling etc. I believe teaching in itself is a performing art, and one that requires creativity, skill, intelligence, patience, flexibility and tenacity to keep going to find better ideas and methods to better help the youth of tomorrow!

Yes, you've captured the "teacher as performer" metaphor!
