Murals across Canada - SACanada Forums

This is how Canadian cities are decorated! There are many more Canadian murals but this is just a sampling.

Murals across Canada - SACanada Forums

Okay, so I did not know what a huge topic this was....decorating our cities - world wide. At one point in my life, I wanted to be a city planner....could you wonder what the viewscape of Prince George would be looking like if I was.....every building would be covered!!

Murals Around The World

I would tell you that there would be more than just the Bear sculptures around town!
There is a sculpture park in Kansas City. It is 17 acres in size and it houses 4 HUGE badminton birds - take a look. Here is something our PG planners could look at - maybe Mr. PG could get a badminton racket?

Please do not get me wrong....this is exactly what we should have in Prince George, more arts and more accessible to people. I love this idea of a sculpture park. What a great way to engage in conversation and make people take a different perspective of things. When I looked at the orange steel sculpture I could not see its artistic value. However upon reading is description it is metal from the Golden Gate Bridge and it celebrates industrialism (should one really do that?) and the form of it represents multiculturalism. I never would have interpreted it as that, so it was a learning experience....as all life is....

Great find Linda. I always see murals and admire them at a glance but there's a lot of artistic talent in them that goes unrecognized sometime, especially the story they are usually depicting. Thanks for the link
